Our Free Courses Will Be Available on FutureLearn Soon!

We’re thrilled to announce that from 5th January registrations for our popular ‘Managing My Money’ and ‘Managing My Investments’ courses will be open on FutureLearn, giving you access to free interactive content that allows you to learn at your own pace.

The two courses are part of our True Potential Centre of Public Understanding of Finance (PUFin) which have been created in partnership with the Open University. They have been designed to empower the UK public to better manage their finances as they bust the jargon and industry speak with engaging and interactive content.

Once again participants will follow Mark Upton, Director of The True Potential Centre for the Public Understanding of Finance, as he covers a number of topics that learners need to focus on in order to improve their financial knowledge.

What Do the Courses Cover?

Managing My Money:

This course is for those who have an interest in developing their personal financial skills in order to make good decisions when managing their finances as well as buying financial products. No previous qualifications are needed for studying this subject.

After completing this course you will be able to:

• Understand how to plan your finances, including drawing up a budget
• Understand loans, mortgages and other debt products as well as their costs
• Understand the main categories of personal investments
• Understand pension products
• Understand insurance products

Managing My Investments:

This second course aims to give you the skills required to manage your own investments. Once you have completed the course you will be able to:

• Understand how to make investment choices
• Discuss the risks and returns associated with investments
• Explore the practicalities of involvement with personal finance markets

It is our firm belief that by arming the public with a stronger understanding of their finances and financial products available to them, we can create a positive saving culture, now and in the future.
